This leave may be used for pregnancy-related illnesses or disabilities, the birth of the child, childbirth recuperation, and other medical issues. Both state and federal law prohibit prospective employers from discriminating against a woman because of pregnancy or pregnancy-related illness or disability, as a reason not to hire her.
